UNDP supports youth mobile ecological camp to promote biodiversity conservation in Altai-Sayan Ecoregion

Conservation of rare and endangered species and strengthening and expanding protected areas are the primary activities for the UNDP/GEF Project “Biodiversity Conservation in the Russian Portion of the Altai-Sayan Ecoregion”. At the same time the Project team works towards increased biodiversity awareness among local population, including schoolchildren, who get quite enthusiastic about nature protection, giving hope for the living future of the Altai-Sayan Ecoregion.

A brand-new website on ecotourism in Central Siberia has been launched

The ECOSIBERIA website, replete with excellent photos, has been developed within a broader project: ‘Enhancing biodiversity conservation and ecotourism in Russia’, which supports sustainable ecotourism initiatives and assists Russian protected areas in developing best practice in conservation and ecotourism.
